Learning activity C1: Opera – “Elements for the future” – co-creation
The Learning Teaching Training Activities (LTTA) held in Kavadarci, North Macedonia, from October 24th to 28th, 2022, brought together six learners and three trainers from each partner institution. The primary focus of the activities was the co-creation of an innovative opera titled “Elements for the Future,” aiming to integrate digital art, digital media, and environmental themes to produce a sustainable opera. This report encapsulates the key activities, achievements, and outcomes of the project. The core objective of the LTTA was to co-create an opera consisting of three acts. Learners, guided by partner organizations, engaged in online webinars and workshops to generate ideas and stories for the operas.
There were organized topic-related activities focused on creating digital materials related to the opera theme, enhancing participants’ data manipulation and collaborative skills; cultural activities, including visits, tours, and artistic programs, provided opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and exploration. The participants in this mobility had the opportunity to visit the National Opera and Ballet of North Macedonia.
All materials generated during the co-creation process, including ideas and stories, were compiled into a digital database accessible through a dedicated website. Stories not selected for the opera were repurposed into small video productions for social media and promotional purposes, enhancing the project’s outreach and impact.
The production phase of the opera prioritized sustainability, with initiatives such as minimizing emissions from travel, remote rehearsals via real-time video, and utilizing recycled materials for stage production. Each partner institution played a crucial role in promoting the project, identifying artistic talents, and organizing pre-mobility workshops, every partner selected unique cultural elements to enrich the collaborative experience.
The outcomes included the creation of three stories per country, from which one was chosen for adaptation into a libretto. It also included presentations, reports, collaborative work, testimonials, and evaluation tools. These materials, along with certificates and performance guides, will be disseminated to stakeholders to showcase the project’s achievements and impact.
